Mahindra Thar is the new jeep from Mahindra Company. Launched
in the mid 2011 this mean machine is for people who love jeeps and will definitely
fall in love with the Thar. It is specially designed targeting the Indian customers
and is a perfect suit for those in the hilly terrain and rough mud’s of the rural
areas. The youth also will take liking for its style and showoff. Currently
available in 4 wheel drive option it can tame even the worst of roads.



Exterior: The
vehicle features awesome exteriors. It has cleverly designed curves on the body
along with the company’s signature look and the central attraction of the front
view is the traditionally styled head lights and indicators. The broad tyres
make the vehicle look muscular. The ground clearance of the Thar is excellent,
so no more worries in case of bad roads. You will also get to feel the cool and
natural air with the option of open top. In comparison to the Maruti Gypsy, the
Thar has a fresh feel and is a customer’s delight to ride. The hatchbacks,
sedans, SUVs and MUVs are becoming common lot. So if you are looking for the
new style, then don’t look elsewhere, Mahindra Thar is the answer for you.
Overall the exterior body of the Thar is good but you might be in trouble for
high emissions especially if live in the metropolitan cities.



Interior: The seats
are a total comfort and give you enough space for movement. The seats look
rugged but are equally comforting. The rear seats are front facing and elegantly
styled. The rider will be in for a smooth experience with its strong steering.
On the whole this beast gives you total command even at break neck speeds or be
it the worst of terrains. The typical Mahindra signature style can be seen with
its outside features complementing the sharp curves making it a great look for
the eyes. The wind shield has a raise rectangular shape giving it the good old
feel. The head lamps and indicators are classically styled giving the much
needed glamour. The wide tyres give it a muscular feel. The ground clearance is
worry of the past with a high wheel base while the rear mirrors give a clean
view without hindering with the driver comfort. On the whole the Thar is a
treat for both the classics and the gen next alike.



Engine Specifications:
The tubeless tyres give it maximum pulling power. With a rugged diesel engine
it has a displacement of 2498cc with a five speed manual transmission gear
box.  The NEF CRDe Turbocharged
Intercooled, euro IV engine it gives utmost power of 105 hp at 3800 rpm and a
pulsating torque of 247 Nm at 1800-2000 rpm. This beast is not for the faint
hearted with great power for all terrain, from deserts to the hills; it just
takes off the road every time to an all new driving experience. It is available
in two models. The basic model (Mahindra Thar 4X2) is priced at Rs. 4,35,295
and the top end model (Mahindra Thar 4X4) is priced at Rs. 6,06,311.
