Oil Change: Types of Oil

Going green is the buzz of the decade, and even oil companies are beginning to get in on the trend. You may have heard commercials touting a product that is better for your car and better for the environment, but what is really the truth? Synthetic, recycled, and regular oils are all out and available for purchase today. To make the right choice for you, you only need to know a few characteristics of each before your next oil change.Synthetic. The marketing technique used for this type focuses on emissions, being green, and longevity. Synthetic promoters not only claim that you can go longer between changes with this product, but they also explain that the actual making of the product is safer for the environment. Lay people may never the level of truth behind these claims, but what we do know is that, aside from those of us who live in extreme climates, synthetics may benefit race car drivers, but the basics uses are the same. There are still emissions, and even though you can go longer between maintenance’s, doing so will eventually caused equally harmful emissions as more regular changes. This option, because of its claims to be better for the environment undergoes a more difficult and longer process to make. This passes the costs onto the consumer.Lately the work “recycled” in any product name is a great promotion, and fifty percent recycled oil has recently hit the market. Sure anything that you can recycle or reuse is better for society, but again emissions are emissions. The bottom line is what is best for your car, and the truth is that all oils no matter how expensive, how carefully made, or how assumable environmentally friendly, they all serve the same purpose for your car. Recycled products also cost more, a fact, if much thought is put toward, makes little sense at all.Regular, good old stand-by oil does the same thing for your car as any lubricant you use in an oil change. It keeps the moving parts of your car moving with ease, and as previously stated, regular oil change, no matter what type you choose, are better for the environment than emissions caused by synthetics that are not changed frequently. Regular oil costs less as well.It is impossible to do everything recommended by go green gurus to save the environment, but you can make one or two changes to make your contribution. If you feel synthetic oil is your contribution, and then go for it keeping in mind that perhaps the best contribution would be a regular oil change using synthetic products.

Maintaining Your Car's Oil is Essential

When you can oil change done on your vehicle you are extending the lifespan of your vehicles engine. When you run a car with dirty oil you are risking your engine's lifespan. Dirty oil is full of contaminants from the road, such as dirt and other debris and when these things work their way through your engine they can clog it and build up gunk.Oil is the lubricant for your engine; it keeps everything running smoothly and prevents overheating by reducing friction. In other words when your oil doesn't work right, nothing works right. I'm sure you've heard horror stories about engines seizing up because the owner of the car ran it with dirty oil or even worse ignored the engine light and ran it with no oil. And yes this can happen. Admittedly it takes a little bit of common sense to maintain your car including understanding the importance of oil in your engine. If you forget to do an oil change once in a while or if you don't meet that 3,000 mile mark your engine is not going to fall out. But if you continue to ignore your car's needs and don't change the oil you are going to damage your engine. This is how it basically works you put oil in your car that oil runs through your entire engine and continues to cycle through. Some of the safeguards that your car has is place include an engine light, oil light and oil filter. Worst case scenario your oil light will come on and let you know your oil is low. If you continue to ignore that light your engine light will come on and let you know your engine is about to drop out your car.Other than your oil one of the most important components in the system as a safeguard is your oil filter. Your oil filter will get most of the gunk out there well before it cycles through your engine most of the time, however if your oil is old and dirty and your oil filter hasn't been changed in a long time your oil filter can't work anymore because it is to clogged with debris to function. This demonstrates the importance of change your oil filter when you change your oil. If you're not sure whoever is in charge of taking care of your car is doing this, ask. It should be in ordeal to get an oil change, if you don't have time, ambition or desire to do it yourself there are plenty of places that can do it for you effectively and inexpensively. Before you go to just any will change store on the corner make sure you do a little bit of comparison shopping first. It shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg change your oil but it should be done by somebody who knows what they're doing.

WritHyundai i10 seems to have successfully taken off from where the Santro left
off. The i10 still continues to be a darling of the auto sales with even the new
Hyundai i10 is going aggressive and sporty than its older version. The
price ranges from Rs 3,54,972* - Rs 5,99,455* (ex-showroom Delhi).

Engine: Hyundai i10 comes in two versions.
The Hyundai i10 has nine variants out of
which its two variants (D-lite and Era) are equipped with 1.1L, 1086cc, IRDE
(Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine) petrol engine for power and mileage.
These two variants of give a mileage around 14kmpl in city while 19.8kmpl on
highway. On the other hand, its five variants (Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta W
Sunroof) have the 1.2L, 1197 Kappa petrol engine with five speed manual
transmission giving a mileage 15.4kmpl in urban areas while on highway it gives
19.2kmpl. While the Magna AT and Asta AT has auto gear with the mileage around
15.4kmpl in city and 20.3kmpl on highway. The new one’s come in 1.1 iRDE2 and
1.2 Kappa2 petrol engines. The 1.1 iRDE2, 4 cylinder, powers up to 69 Ps at
5500 rpm with a torque of 10.1 kgm at 4500 rpm. The 1.2 Kappa2, 4 cylinder,
DOHC with VTVT mill powers up to 80 Ps at 6000 rpm with a torque of 11.4 kgm at
4000 rpm. The new Hyundai i10 VTVT technology ensures higher power,
performance and fuel efficiency; as per reports the mileage of the vehicle is
20.36 kmpl that is ARAI certified.Exteriors: The Hyundai i10
headlamps stretch towards the rear of the front end and intentionally the i10
looks a demon. The chrome grille tops the overall looks. The plastic mould on the front and the rear is
a sight to watch out for. The rear of it seems to have lost itself while
the tail-gate is ok. The new Hyundai i10 has the VTVT logo and Kappa2
monogram which is surely a new move.  The
rear side now comes with new bumper and reverse parking sensors. Wheels are
fully encompassed in the 1.2 Kappa2 variants. Hyundai i10 is a five
seater with good space. it is available in ten vibrant colors

Interiors: The dual color scheme, the plastics and knobs have a racy feel.
The gear shift is at the centre console while the steering has an attached audio
and bluetooth. The dash meters are digital with cool blue illumination on the dash
board. The floor comes with a power outlet, chrome finish door handles and gear
knob for the AT and Asta variants. There is no dearth of space to carry things.
The room space is decent but there can be trouble with heavy baggage. A dead-pedal
should have been there. Good lumber support at both ends is good enough to cover
miles.

Braking and
Handling: The suspension on the Hyundai i10
tames any disturbance easily. The steering wheel hold is strong but the
adrenaline needs to be kept down as the tyres are too pale though the brakes
are powerful. As for the wheels, Hyundai i10 is available with 14 inches,
5.0Jx14 fully covered steel wheels adds more style in its exterior looks.
Hyundai i10 is packed with puncture resistant tube less tyres with the tyre
size of 155/80 R13.Hyundai i10 Safety Features:
The safety includes Airbags, ABS, Seat Belts, Belt Warning
Lamp, Door Open Warning Lamp, ABS Warning Lamp, Seat Belt Reminder, Clear Lens
Fog Lamps, Rear Combination Lamps, Tubeless Tyres, Engine Immobilizer, Child
Locks and Central Locking. The newer ones also have foldable key with keyless
entry and reverse parking sensor.

Oil Change Procedure for Motorcycles

An oil change procedure is typically done on engines that are used for
transportation. It is not only vehicles with four or more wheels that
need to be maintained in this aspect but also means of transportation
that come in two or three wheels. Motorcycles also have engines that
utilize lubricant to enable their engines to function and serve well.
The procedure to replace this lubricant is highly similar to that of an
automobile. Owners can actually do the replacement themselves and save
themselves some expenses.
Accessing the Engine

During an oil change, there are several essential tools that one must
have on hand. These include screwdrivers of varying sizes and lengths,
Allen wrenches, socket wrench, pliers (long nose ones), a funnel, a
crush washer, the right kind of oil and a new filter that is right for
the engine. A filter removal tool is also another necessity when trying
one’s hand at replacing the lubrication. The motorcycle engine is
usually located where the individual sits on when astride it. Many
experts advise to warm up the engine to ensure that the lubrication is
easier to drain. In many cases, there are fiberglass or plastic
components, called fairings, that cover the engine for safety purposes.
The screwdriver can be used to remove this. Once the engine is exposed,
the oil filler cap can be located and twisted up and out. It is usually a
black plastic plug that may need to be removed using the long nose
pliers. This is not the drain plug, which is located at the bottom of
the casement and this will need to be removed as well to drain the used
lubricant. Make sure that there is a container big enough to hold a few
liters of the used lubricant which will be drained during the oil change
procedure. The used crush washer is removed along with the drain plug
and is replaced with a new one.

While draining, the removal of the filter may be done. A removal tool is
used for this since it may be tightly screwed unto the engine. When the
filter is removed, there should be an O-ring along with it and this is
to be disposed of since the new one comes with a new O-ring. The O-ring
ensures that there are no leaks from the filter and tightens the seal
between the filter and the engine. Some particles may be present in the
plastic mesh filter of the engine case; it is wise to remove these by
wiping with a rag or blowing through with compressed air. The same
cleaning goes for the other parts which are at the moment removed from
the engine. Replacing the oil filter is easy and should be tightened by
hand without the aid of the filter tool.

Once satisfied with the draining process, the drain plug should be
replaced along with the new crush washer. Use the funnel to fill in the
new unused lubrication up to the recommended amount on the engine. The
oil change procedure is almost done at this point. Replace the filler
cap and try to start the motorcycle, letting it idle for a few minutes
before turning it off to check if the level is centered. The oil change
is successful!
